This article contains spoilers for Episode 6 of the second season of “And Just Like That …”

Few who have trudged through the mucky streets of New York during a blizzard would see pelting snow as an invitation for high fashion, but “And Just Like That …” is set in Carrie Bradshaw-land.

In the new episode, the city is hit by a powerhouse of a snowstorm, but the protagonists have places to be. Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) is discussing her film at the Museum of Modern Art. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Che (Sara Ramirez) have to get to “Widow Con.” And Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is out in the snow searching drugstores on a complicated motherly mission to help her daughter Lily.

Ahead of Episode 6, members of The New York Times’s Styles desk discussed the coats, patterns and earmuffs on display — sometimes barely visible through the squall — in the latest installment of the series.

Jeremy Allen Carrie’s sweeping Moncler coat by Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli is a high point of this episode for me.

That humongous coat, with its feather-like wingspan, reminded me, ironically enough, of Carrie’s teeny JW Anderson pigeon purse. What’s more New York than Carrie Bradshaw dressed as the city’s unofficial avian mascot?

Callie Holtermann I, too, gasped when I saw that coat. You’re telling me she had that in her closet earlier this season when she supposedly had nothing to wear to the Met Gala? When Rihanna herself arrived at the Met in 2021 wearing a Balenciaga puffer gown with a giant train?

JA I can’t shake Lisa Todd Wexley’s look (and walk). It was the only ensemble that actually furthered the plot, and allowed her to arrive camera-ready at her MoMA talk.

Vanessa Friedman Lisa Todd Wexley’s bedazzled balaclava and caterpillar-fringed cape wins. “We’re not going to let a little bit of snow stop us” is right. On the other bomb cyclone style extreme, there was Che in their woodsman’s hat and jacket.

Katie Van Syckle Yes, followed closely by Steve, traipsing back home.

Madison Malone Kircher I believe you mean the only person appropriately dressed for the weather.

JA Does anyone remember checks being as bountiful in Carrie’s wardrobe as they are in this season of “And Just Like That …”? This episode opens with her in a black-and-white checked blouse for a Zoom call and features both scaled-up plaid and more traditional houndstooth coats later on. In Episode 5, her plaid coat and striped caftan basically caused a bike accident.

VF What about Miranda’s heart pajamas?

MMK Miranda’s heart pj’s were great, but how are they going to signal that it’s February in the next episode?

KVS I really enjoyed Carrie’s big pink knit sweater, which it seemed she was wearing as pajamas.

JA Carrie’s aqua flight suit at the Apple store, paired with the S.J.P.-designed suede boots she also wore in Episode 5, made me smile — especially because one leg was strangely tucked into the boot. I must say, I miss the more ridiculous and whimsical Carrie of “Sex and the City” yesteryear.

CH The look was made even more ridiculous by the setting: the Upper East Side Apple Store, an unmistakable Beaux-Arts building on Madison Avenue that used to be a bank.

VF I still think Seema is the only character that has developed an identifiable, grown-up style, and it was again on display in, as Jeremy said, the Apple store, where she was a symphony in taupe with a very fabulous, well-placed ostrich-feather collar. Give her credit for consistency.

MMK I’d happily let her book my Hamptons house for the summer.

JA Later on, Nya’s massive maroon earrings at her dinner party also stood out to me — only because Dr. Wallace is, like Miranda, a character who slips under the sartorial radar with her more earthy, realistic ensembles.

VF She’s got her own look. I wish we could see more of it.

JA Indeed. It made me want to go back and revisit some looks that might have escaped our notice — like, say, the quilted Etro pants and JW Anderson color-blocked heels she wore so casually in Episode 5.

VF In the meantime, however, we can all hold our breath for … Aidan style! Will it be different? Will it be the same? Inquiring minds want to know. Any bets?

JA The show’s Instagram account teased a photo of Aidan in a belted, pocket-strewn jacket and purple pants, holding Carrie’s hand (gasp!) as the two walk inexplicably down the middle of the street. Carrie, meanwhile, is wearing a blaring Barbiecore cape (over — wait for it — more plaid).

CH Carhartt, but in a woodworker way, not a Carhartt WIP x Marni way. Although we did hear Aidan sold his furniture company to West Elm this episode, so who knows!
